THE BEATING HEART OF THE AUSTRALIAN HORSE CULTURE LIES WITHIN THE HARSH, BARREN LAND AND THE VAST BLUE SKIES; THE RED DUST AND STONES; THE SCRUBBY MULGA TREES AND LUSH EUCALYPT FORESTS.
It lies within the people; the bushmen, farmers and graziers; their wives and the generations that follow. It lies within long, hot days spent mustering in the saddle; afternoons spent at the yards teaching grandchildren how to ride and treasured weekends gathered with friends at the local camp draft. It lies within the endurance riders that breathe life into the tracks and trails that meander and weave their way through the most beautiful and rugged terrain this country has to offer and it lies within the passionate trail riders who set out to explore untouched national parks. Australian bush riding has been built around the classic stock saddle but now the PH Country saddle offers all of the familiar comforts of a stock saddle combined with the revolutionary design of PHS’s adaptree saddles.
Respectfully designed to include all that is loved about classic Australian stock saddles, the PH Country maintains the rider comfort and safety of a traditional stock saddle with secure knee pads, a deep seat and higher cantle all whilst breaking boundaries in promoting equine back health and freedom from pain.
Since the initial development of the stock saddle, over 150 years ago, craftsmen have stuck closely to the original design; providing riders with the seat and security they want but too often neglecting the horses’ wellbeing and health. The PH Country however, provides riders with the saddles that they know and love but has been revolutionised to also include design features that protect the horse from back pain and soundness issues.
Hair stuffed panels of a century ago and rigid wooden trees have been replaced with soft wool-flocking and the most adjustable tree on the market, the Adaptree. Adjustable in both angle and width, the Adaptree ensures the perfect fit allowing riders to ride all day with the peace of mind knowing that their horses are free from pinching and discomfort.
Along with the Adaptree, shoulder relief panels have been incorporated into the PH Country saddle, providing contoured liberation of the horses’ shoulders; a huge improvement from the hard over stuffed panels that were once seen on older style stock saddles. The Y-girthing system provides stability and even “pull” across the whole weight bearing surface of the saddle, a vast difference to the traditional single cinch that runs over the middle of the saddle, placing undue pressure on one single area of the horses’ back.
The PH Country saddle holds the heart of Australian bush riding at the core of its design; a tipped hat to the stockmen, endurance and pleasure riders who spend long hours in the saddle working and exploring the land and an outstretched hand of thankyou to the horses that carry them.
