35 YEAR CELEBRATION - THE EVOLUTION OF THE PHS LOGO

2020 - A NEW YEAR. A NEW DECADE

This year also celebrates 35 years Peter Horobin Saddlery has been in business.

Initially starting in 1985 from a back shed on Peter and Julie Horobin's property on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, to now selling saddles all around the world, the Peter Horobin Saddlery logo has gone though its own evolution.

Peter Horobin Logo

The original 1985 logo. Designed by Peter Horobin, the traditional oval style logo reflected the saddle badges on the back of the saddle and became the iconic stamp for the many saddles we created. The black and white logo was easy to use for advertising with basic methods of printing and faxing.

The design of the second logo was in ties with our first website. We believe we were the first equestrian company in Australia to have an online presence. Designed in the early 2000's it reflected a very Australian saddlery concept. Our store in Mornington was a traditional saddlery store which housed many brands under the name.

Phs Official Logo Black

This design was the first rebrand project of Marlee Horobin in 2007. Designed by her friend at the time who is now her husband, the initials 'PHS' and black and white colour is classic, never dating, and now iconic to many equestrians around the world.

In 2010, the StrideFree® logo was designed by Peter and represents speed and flight. This new saddle tree concept was developed for race and track saddles to allow complete shoulder rotation in racehorses for a lengthened stride, also supporting equine back health. The success of this revolutionary saddle tree was then developed further to include in our equestrian range of saddles in 2014, winning the Innovation Award at the International British Equestrian Trade Show. The StrideFree® range of saddles has impressed equestrians all around the world and this concept is what put Peter Horobin Saddlery on the world map.

With the global success of our StrideFree® equestrian saddles, generating a growing number of passionate followers, particularly in the dressage and show jumping industry, we decided in 2018 to separate the StrideFree® brand across the two disciplines and developed the StrideFree® Racing logo. We used the colour red in the logo, which represents speed, energy, excitement, passion - everything the racing industry embodies. The original StrideFree® brand now represents the tree in our equestrian saddles, and the new StrideFree® Racing brand represents the tree in our race and exercise saddles.
